Eynesbury’s Winter Festival – What’s in store!

June 27, 2022

Winter is here! Let the snow fall, the hearths crackle and the cold winds blow! This year, Eynesbury is bringing the winter magic – from outdoor ice skating to live music to the wondrous winter markets. Bundle up in your warmest coat and bring the whole family along to create lasting, snow-topped memories. To cap off the season with a bang, we’ll also be hosting a bonfire for our unmissable Winter Solstice event. With fire performers, African drummers and a mesmerising firework display, we’ll keep you entertained while you celebrate the longest night of the year.

What is the Winter Festival?

The Eynesbury Winter Festival is one of the most eagerly anticipated winter festivals in Victoria. Starting on the 24th of June and continuing through to late July, the elves of Eynesbury transform Eynesbury Quarter into a whimsical winter wonderland. Try your  hand at ice skating at our outdoor Ice Rink or wander through the Sunday markets where stalls brim with fresh produce, arts and crafts. Grab a hot cocoa and some delicious comfort food at one of the food trucks or sit by the fire pit and toast giant marshmallows. Listen to live music, be spellbound by Micky Magic and meet all the kids’ favourite Disney characters. Friday nights are the perfect time for some dance fun during our RNB Skate Night. To wrap up, the Winter Solstice celebrates the culmination of the most magical season with a bonfire, fireworks, food trucks and more on the 16th of July.

What’s On?

June 24th marks the beginning of the Eynesbury Winter Festival. Over four frosty weeks, the grounds will be host to winter activities for the young and young at heart!

Outdoor Ice Skating

Eynesbury brings you the most iconic and enchanting of winter experiences: outdoor ice skating. So, get into your winter warmers and start practising those pirouettes. Our Friday evening sessions are RNB themed, with a DJ to get your pulse pumping. Snuggle up to that special someone or break out the ice dance moves – just try not to crash into the other skaters!

Celebrate Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year. The celebration of this seasonal milestone is rooted in ancient history and has been part of important spiritual and cultural traditions across the world. In most ceremonies, the winter solstice celebrates the return of the Sun and features fire and light. The Eynesbury Winter Festival honours this ancient tradition and heralds the Sun’s rebirth with a spectacular bonfire as well as fire performers and a dazzling fireworks display. Come and celebrate the Winter Solstice with us!

Winter Markets

Eynesbury’s Winter Market hosts a range of artisan and gastronomic vendors, nestled between towering Grey Box trees strung up with twinkling fairy lights. Find home grown produce, hand-crafted gifts and decorations, warm up with a hot drink or treat, or simply wander through the market streets and let yourself be carried away into a winter fairy tale.

Exciting Winter Activities for Kids & Family

Expect to see some famous faces from your kids’ favourite Disney films on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, then settle in for a family-friendly movie day, complete with buttery popcorn and fluffy fairy floss on Thursday afternoon. Bring your little witch or wizard to Eynesbury’s jaw-dropping magic show, presented by Micky Magic on Tuesday afternoons, or let your little one’s imagination run wild with a range of free kids activities on Saturdays. Whether your family’s big or small, Eynesbury will help you make memories to last a lifetime.
