Delicious food served in beautiful spaces has been Eynesbury’s speciality since our homestead was built back in 1872. Although many things have changed over the years, one thing has remained the same: our reputation for exceptional hospitality. It’s safe to say that Eynesbury as we know it now is a foodie’s dream destination, whether you prefer a sit-down dinner or quick coffee catchup. In this article, we’ll take you through the restaurant & cafe in Eynesbury, as well as the markets and festivals you won’t want to miss. With Eynesbury just a 40-minute drive from Melbourne, it’s time to start planning your next weekend escape.
The Homestead
You’ll be spoilt for choice with Eynesbury’s range of restaurant, cafe and foodie events. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or finishing the working week with Friday night drinks, Ms Peacock Restaurant and Bar offers first-rate food in an equally impressive atmosphere. If you’re looking for the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing coffee, you can’t go past Birdy & Co cafe. Those who love nothing more than fresh produce at affordable prices can check out our regular markets. Meanwhile, you’ll find the ideal combination of international cuisine and local ingredients at our food truck festivals.
Ms Peacock
Ms Peacock at Eynesbury offers contemporary dining in a location steeped in history, and our extensive renovations saw the space transform into a bustling eatery and bar. You could spend hours tucked away in the restaurant while peering out at the breathtaking bushland and exquisitely maintained gardens. As if the stunning scenery wasn’t enough, there are also plenty of activities that keep Ms Peacock a lively and fun-filled venue. On an average week, this homestead restaurant plays host to trivia nights, live music and Asian cuisine-themed events.
Speaking of the food, Ms Peacock boasts a varied and modern menu that heroes’ top-quality ingredients and fresh local produce. Aussie classics like chicken parmigiana, delectable desserts such as homemade gelato and vegan alternatives like vegetable risotto are just a few of the delights you can expect (depending on the menu). On top of that, our wood-fired pizzas are so renowned that our head chef, Gagan Bhatnagar, was recently crowned Australia’s number one entrant in Italy’s 2022 World Pizza Championship. Gagan’s talent is no surprise, given he previously served as head chef at Singapore’s iconic Raffles Hotel.
Birdy & Co
If you’re on the hunt for your next go-to coffee spot, look no further than Birdy & Co. Open from 7 am – 3 pm, seven days a week; this cafe offers convenience without skimping on taste. Birdy & Co is located inside the old bluestone stables that now house Eynesbury’s Golf Proshop, making it the perfect place to relax with a bite or a beverage after a game.
The menu is filled with hearty, comforting food – just the kind you’re craving on a lazy Saturday afternoon. At the same time, it includes items like toasties, sandwiches, pies and pastries, which are just as easy to eat on the go while running errands or on a road trip. Whether you’re eating in or grabbing some takeaway, you’ll be impressed by Birdy & Co’s commitment to quality food in a casual setting.
Eynesbury Markets
Whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town, there’s no doubt that checking out the markets is one of the most enjoyable things to do at Eynesbury. Currently held on the fourth Sunday of every month, the Eynesbury Market features dozens of stalls held by farmers and produce growers selling fruit and vegetables, free-range eggs, bread, cakes, sauces, jam and more. In addition, you’ll also find stands ranging from artisan craft businesses to local jewellery makers. With all of this in mind, it’s fair to say the market is ideal for picking up a one-of-a-kind gift, catching up with friends or stocking up on supplies for the week ahead. Not only are markets often a great place to find a bargain, but they also help support local farmers, food suppliers and small businesses. By attending our market, you can shop with confidence, knowing exactly where your goods have come from. To top it all off, we’re dog-friendly, so the market is guaranteed fun for the whole family – even those with four legs.
Food truck festivals
One of the newest and most exciting things to do at Eynesbury is to check out one of the regular Food Truck Festivals. You’ll feel like you’ve just hopped on an aeroplane with the vast array of international cuisine on offer each and every time. Along with exotic treats and plenty of new dishes to try, you’ll also find a wide selection of modern Aussie dishes made from the highest quality ingredients. There’s no question that the line-up of Eynesbury food trucks offers something for everyone, no matter your budget, dietary requirements or individual tastes.
Mouth-watering food isn’t all you can expect from our Food Truck Festivals, as live music is often on the agenda too. The range of acts on our roster is just as diverse as the food line up, guaranteeing you’ll find your new favourite band, singer or even genre of music.
